The University of Mount Saint Vincent’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program strives to provide each student with a top-notch accredited nursing program. State Approval

Our ABSN program in Riverdale and Queens is approved by the New York State Education Department (NYSED), located at 89 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY 12234. This state entity provides leadership to an educational system that strives to offer the best learning opportunities in the world.

Student Licensure

When it comes to earning a professional license or certification, each state’s requirements differ. At the University of Mount Saint Vincent, we prepare our students to take the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX). Every state requires nurses to pass this exam for a nursing license. Mount graduates can take the NCLEX in any state, but some states have added requirements in order to receive licensure.
