Onsite Nursing Simulation Labs
As part of the University of Mount Saint Vincent ABSN program, you will complete guided nursing simulation labs at our program site location in Riverdale, New York, under the guidance of expert, experienced instructors. Through these nursing simulation labs, you will put the knowledge you have gained through your nursing coursework to use and develop real-world skills to apply throughout clinical placements as well as your future nursing career.
Our accelerated BS in Nursing skills and simulation labs are administered in a mock clinical setting, with high-tech medical manikins and hospital-grade medical equipment that familiarize you with real, on-the-ground patient care scenarios, similar to those you will encounter countless times as an RN.
Through these lab experiences, you will develop your ability to analyze and react to situations in real time while developing the bonds with your instructors and cohort that you will later share with your fellow healthcare professionals.

This means that during nursing simulation labs, you will have a guiding hand at every step ready to answer questions and correct any situation in which you need extra guidance. This hands-on instruction means you will learn to correctly:
- Conduct physical assessments
- Take and properly record vital signs
- Perform core nursing skills
- Care for wounds
After each nursing simulation lab, you will participate in a group debriefing with instructors and fellow cohort members. In each, you will be able to reflect on what went well and what could be improved in a judgement-free environment. If you should also ever need additional practice or clarification, a faculty member will be ready to discuss any points of concern you have.
