Student Licensure

When it comes to earning a professional license or certification, each state’s requirements differ. At the University of Mount Saint Vincent, we prepare our students to take the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX). Every state requires nurses to pass this exam for a nursing license. Mount graduates can take the NCLEX in any state, but some states have added requirements in order to receive licensure.

At the University’s accredited ABSN program in New York, we will educate you to the highest standard so you can graduate as a practice-ready, knowledgeable nurse.

*On May 24, 2023, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Board of Commissioners directed the University of Mount Saint Vincent baccalaureate degree nursing program to show cause as to why accreditation should not be withdrawn due to historical and current NCLEX Pass Rates being below regulation standard. ‘The issuance of a show cause directive is not an adverse action, but a statement of serious concern by the Board.’ It is important to note that the Mount Saint Vincent baccalaureate degree nursing program remains a fully accredited program.
