The College of Mount Saint Vincent is helping to answer the call and address the nursing shortage with its Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program in NYC, now enrolling.
The 16-month program will compress the content of a traditional four-year nursing program and offer a quality path to earning a BSN for prospective nursing students.
In addition to providing a path for those called to become a nurse, the program also seeks to help ease New York’s increasing nursing demand by removing the wait time nursing school applicants experience while trying to get started on a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
Whether you are ready to convert your BS to BSN or your BA to BSN, the College of Mount Saint Vincent can help you leverage your non-nursing bachelor’s degree into a rewarding career as a nurse.
How Our Accelerated BSN Program Works
We offer a comprehensive experience through our ABSN program. First, you’ll build a solid foundation through studying nursing theory concepts and completing accelerated nursing coursework. Then, you’ll have the opportunity to practice those ideas in a hands-on environment at on-site labs at our ABSN program sites in the Bronx and Queens. You’ll then apply that knowledge through real-world experiences during clinical rotations at top healthcare facilities starting your first semester.
While our program is on an accelerated timeline, that doesn’t mean we compromise quality. In fact, our accelerated nursing program only differs from a traditional classroom-based BSN program by the timeline. You’ll gain the same skills and knowledge you’d receive in a longer, traditional program.
Although it will no doubt take dedication and a great amount of effort, earning your nursing degree from the College of Mount Saint Vincent ABSN program is well worth it. As a graduate of our program, you’ll be qualified to sit for the NCLEX-RN® licensure exam and jumpstart your nursing career.
Hands-On Labs
Students will put what they learn into practice at our ABSN Learning Sites in Riverdale or Queens. Our ABSN Leaning Site is a high-tech facility where students will take exams, hone their nursing skills, and engage in simulated scenarios inside a supportive healthcare setting under the guidance of the College’s expert nursing instructors.
Clinical Rotations
Doubling as a networking opportunity and to understand the daily roles of a working nurse, clinical placements empower students to put the knowledge they gain in labs into action inside top healthcare facilities around the New York City metro area. Clinical experiences begin during the first semester and allow ABSN students to work with real patients in a variety of healthcare settings.
